वादी की परिभाषा -

 किसी भी राग में सबसे अधिक लगने वाले स्वर को वादी स्वर कहते हैं अर्थात किसी भी राग में जिस स्वर पर अधिक रुका या ठहराव किया जाता है वह उस राग का वादी स्वर कहलाता है। वादी स्वर को राग रूपी राज्य में राजा की संज्ञा दी गई है। वादी स्वर एक ही होता है। प्रत्येक राग का अपना-अपना वादी स्वर होता है।

👉 संवादी स्वर की परिभाषा-

किसी भी राग में वादी स्वर से कम तथा अन्य स्वर से अधिक रुका या ठहराव किया जाए उस स्वर को संवादी स्वर कहते हैं। राज रूपी राज्य में संवादी स्वर को मंत्री की संज्ञा दी गई है। किसी भी राग में संवादी स्वर भी एक ही होता है। किसी भी राग का स्वरूप जानने के लिए वादी और संवादी स्वर की विशेष भूमिका रहती  है।
