राग की जातियां और उपजातियां
राग में लगने वाले स्वरों से राग की जाति निश्चित होती है। राग में कम से कम 5 स्वर अवश्य लगने चाहिए। इस प्रकार कुछ रागों में सात स्वरों का, कुछ में 6 स्वरों का और कुछ में 5 स्वरों का प्रयोग होता है। इस आधार पर मुख्य रूप से राग की 3 जातियां मानी गई है-
1-संपूर्ण
2-षाड़व
3-औड़व
1-संपूर्ण
जब किसी राग में सातों स्वरों का प्रयोग होता है और कोई स्वर वर्जित नहीं होता तो उसे संपूर्ण जाति का राग कहते हैं। इस श्रेणी में यमन, बिलावल, भैरव आदि राग आते हैं।
2-षाड़व
जिस राग में 6 स्वरों का प्रयोग होता है व एक स्वर वर्जित होता है तो उसे षाड़व जाति का राग कहते हैं जैसे राग मारवा
3-औड़व
जिस राग में 2 स्वर वर्जित करके केवल 5 स्वरों का प्रयोग होता है उसे औड़व जाति का राग कहते हैं जैसे भूपाली औड़व जाति का राग है।
👉रागों की उपजातियां
ऊपर राग की जातियों का जो वर्गीकरण किया गया है उसमें राग की तीन ही मुख्य जातियां बताई गई है, लेकिन कुछ लोग ऐसे भी होते हैं जिनके आरोह में सात स्वर व अवरोही में 6 स्वर लगते हैं कुछ रागों के आरोह में छह और अवरोही में सात स्वरों का प्रयोग किया जाता है। इस वर्गीकरण के आधार पर रागों की कुल 9 उपजातियां हो जाती है नीचे की तालिका में रागों की उपजातियां दी जा रही है-

2-Education
The raga in which 6 vowels are used and one vowel is forbidden is called the raga of the Sharad caste, like Raga Marwa.
3-horse
The raga in which only 5 vowels are used after excluding 2 vowels is called the raga of the Oudav caste, as Bhupali is the raga of the Oudav caste.
Subcastes of the Arabs
In the classification of the raga castes mentioned above, there are only three main castes of the raga, but there are some people who have seven vowels in the ascension and 6 vowels in descending, six in the ascension of the ragas and seven in descending Vowels are used. On the basis of this classification, there is a total of 9 subcastes of the ragas, in the table below, the sub-castes of the ragas are given.
